Including the one about what Phurita does not do yet.
What kind of lenders is Phurita for?
Lenders who make small loans and collect them in person: microfinance institutions,
NBFCs, co-operative societies and private lending companies running one or many
branches with a field collector network.
Does it handle daily and weekly collection, not just monthly EMI?
Yes. Daily, weekly and monthly cycles are first-class, and different schemes can run
different cycles at the same time. Flat pricing — where the interest is already inside
the amount you hand over — is supported alongside reducing balance.
Is there a mobile app for field collectors?
Yes, an Android app. A collector can enrol a member, file a loan requisition and record
a repayment, and the member gets a numbered money receipt on the spot.
How is cash collected in the field reconciled?
A collection recorded on the phone settles the member's instalment but waits in a
pending tray until the branch confirms the cash in hand. Only then is it posted to the
accounts, so the books and the cash box agree at the end of the day.
Is my data kept separate from other companies?
Every company gets its own database, not a shared table with a company column. Sessions
are scoped to your own address, so a login on one workspace is not valid on another.
Do I need my own server?
No. Phurita is hosted, backed up nightly and kept patched. You need a browser, and an
Android phone for the field app.
Does it do accounting, or do I still need separate accounting software?
Accounting is built in and it is double-entry. Disbursements, repayments, fees, savings
and deposit transactions post vouchers automatically, and the day book, ledgers, trial
balance, profit and loss and balance sheet are produced from those postings rather than
typed in again.
Can I switch off the modules I do not use?
Yes. Members, loans, savings, deposits, accounts, collectors and the mobile app are
separate modules. A module that is off is not just hidden from the menu — its screens
are closed.
How long does it take to get started?
A workspace is created the same day. What takes the time is your data: branches, loan
products, staff and collectors, and the loans already running on your book. We set that
up with you rather than handing over an empty screen.
Does Phurita include eKYC, credit bureau checks or UPI collection?
Not today. Phurita records KYC documents but does not perform electronic verification,
credit bureau enquiries or online payment collection. These are integrations we can
discuss — and we would rather tell you plainly than let a feature list imply otherwise.
